Kate Middleton dreams she is naked before wedding congregation

The recurring dream has left her sister Pippa, 27 - who will be maid of honour on Friday - in fits of hysterics.

Kate, 29, confessed to imagining herself starkers as a worldwide audience of two billion tunes in to see her tie the knot with Prince William.

She revealed she suffered a similar anxiety-related dream in 2006 as she prepared to start a new job as an accessory buyer with clothing chain Jigsaw.

A Royal source said: "Kate has the last-minute jitters and just wants the day to arrive. It's hardly surprising considering the stage she is going to be on - with the eyes of the world on her.

"But her nerves have manifested in an interesting way. A recurring dream she hadn't had for years has raised its head again.

"She finds herself in front of the congregation and then becomes suddenly aware she is completely naked.

"There is a deathly silence - and everyone from the Queen to Prince Philip is staring at her."

The source added: "Kate has joked the worst bit is she can't work out which parts to cover."

Beaming Kate gave no hint the pressure was getting to her yesterday as she drove away from her family home in Bucklebury, Berks.

But The Sun can reveal that to combat the "sheer terror" of her looming walk down the aisle at Westminster Abbey - and fears she may faint - she has begun drinking protein shakes to keep her strength up.

If she really did find herself naked there would be plenty of foliage to hide behind, aides revealed yesterday.

Trees 20ft high are among blooms the couple have chosen to decorate the Abbey.

Six English field maples and two hornbeam trees will form the centrepiece of a ?50,000 display, which will also see the ceremony festooned with blossoms, azaleas, rhododendron, euphorbias, beech, wisteria and lilac.

Florist Shane Connolly, 47 - who holds a Royal Warrant from the Prince of Wales - said: "I feel quite a lot of pressure but I feel that I'm completely in tune with the client.

"I just want to do my best for Kate and for Prince William."

All the flowers are white or cream, a sign that the couple hope their wedding will be traditional. Shane added: "It's a family wedding. They want things to reflect their personalities."

Roads around the 1?-mile Royal wedding route will start being closed to traffic tomorrow night - as an army of London streetsweepers sets to work making them pristine After the newlyweds leave Westminster Abbey, teams will hit the streets again to clear up an expected 140 tons of litter from tens of thousands of wellwishers.

Mark Banks, waste and recycling manager at Westminster City Council, said: "We're fairly well-rehearsed - this is a bit like New Year's Eve, or the Notting Hill Carnival. Everyone is up for the challenge."

A guard of honour by 120 Royal Navy personnel will be outside the Abbey - and yesterday it was revealed to include by chance an able seaman who swears he and Kate are related.

Reservist Dennis Brown, 39 - originally from Brisbane, Australia - was alerted to the connection by a relative researching their family tree just weeks ago.

Dennis, who now lives in St Albans, Herts, said they share the same great-great-grandfather.

He grinned: "It's just by chance I was chosen to be lining the steps of the Abbey. I've never been to a wedding before. It's going to be pretty special."
