Royal Wedding build-up – celebrity comments on Twitter

It is now less than 24 hours until Kate Middleton walks down the aisle at Westminster Abbey to marry Prince William – and the royal wedding has already taken over Twitter.

Twitter users are sharing their love – and hate – of everything related to the big day, and plans for their own celebrations.

Wedding guest and TV presenter Ben Fogle, who is friends with Prince William, hinted at last minute outfit planning. He tweeted: “Off to buy a tie. Blue?”

Victoria Beckham and footballer husband David are also attending. They flew in from Los Angeles today, and Posh is happy to be back in the UK. She wrote: "London looks beautiful!!!we are so proud to be British! X VB x"

Manchester United and England footballer Wayne Rooney is going for a different royal wedding look, tweeting a picture of himself in a Prince William mask.

Chef Jamie Oliver shared some recipes as he encouraged people to celebrate. He wrote: "Get your hats on & flags ready for William & Kate's wedding tomorrow! Wedding recipes here http://tinyurl.com/6glgcob"

Comedian Jimmy Carr joked: “Wedding guests received an etiquette guide so they know what’s appropriate to say & do. All they have to do is get Prince Phillip to read it.”

As news emerged that Syrian ambassador Sami Khiyami ’s royal wedding invitation had been cancelled, CNN host Piers Morgan tweeted: “I'm available to replace Syrian Ambassador at the wedding. #selflesssacrifice.”

Pub landlord comedian Al Murray commented: “Fair's fair: Kate not promising to obey. William isn't promising to hoover. All pretty normal. The only way the Royal Wedding could be more perfect would be if there was a super injunction on who William was marrying.”

Radio host Simon Mayo was getting in the party spirit. He wrote: “Bunting and trestle tables up, now looking for STREET PARTY tunes. Then I'll get the sherry.”

Radio 1 host Vernon Kay is working tomorrow, and had a special wedding wish for the couple. He tweeted: “Tomorrow,will be hosting Radio1s wedding coverage!Get your wedding stories and gags ready.Wills+Katie may all your ups and downs be in bed!”

Spice Girls Emma Bunton and Mel C reminisced about their meeting with Prince William and brother Harry. Mel C commented: “Doesn't seem that long since Princes William & Harry made us girls peanut butter on toast at Highgrove!”

Emma replied: “I know, it’s mad.”

BBC presenter Rav Wilding revealed he was among the crowds for Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s wedding. Rav said: “So who is going to head into town and watch the wedding?..apparently as a baby I went to see Charles and Diana's and slept right though!”

Singer Estelle was happy to find out Kate Middleton will not promise to obey her husband during her marriage vows. She commented: “*Good one kate.* RT @BBCPeterHunt: In her wedding vows, Kate Middleton won't promise to "obey" her new husband -- ...”

She added: "Sooo if anyone can get me an official copy of the royal weddfing program I'd be touched. I already got a teapot!"

X Factor winner Joe McElderry tweeted a picture of himself with a Kate + Wills 4eva T-shirt, adding: "Think I have a bit of royal wedding fever hehe!!"

Former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan fancies a different royal wedding. He joked: “Love the Royals and Prince William but Prince Harrys wedding is the one to get a invite too..Saving my suit for that one..”

Presenter Zoe Salmon was enjoying the guessing games as everyone wonders what Kate will wear for her big day.

She tweeted: “Merry Royal Wedding Eve! How are you all spending it? Anyone nervous?! My sis & I are having a full-blown guess-off about Kate's frock and the bridesmaid colours & flowers etc. She's now off to William Hill.”
